Super Bowl Sunday

This weekend was extremely fun and extremely awesome! On Saturday, a bunch of the other guys and I went to Glyfada (a southern suburb of Athens on the coast) via the Tram. It was about an hour ride… we checked out the beach there… we got there in time for the sunset… it was so amazing. We also found this restaurant that served food that was particularly good – regular Greek-style stuff, but I think I liked it better because they served it in bigger portions :) After that, we found a bowling alley and played a couple of games. I, as usual, bowled a sub-par game… I got a 65 the first time, and a 68 the second game. I opted out of playing the third game…. to go play foosball with one of the other guys! I beat him in that pretty good, so it boosted my confidence a little.. then we played air hockey, and he beat me. So then I bought some ice cream and it was gooooooodddd….. mmmmm.

After that, we took the Tram back to downtown Athens and went home. Then we got together with the rest of the group and tried to go find a bar in the Psirri area of Athens (where all the nightlife is), but it took us approximately 2 hours to find a place that we all agreed on… Eventually we split off into smaller groups and went our separate ways, but somehow we all ended up back in one club at the end of the night. It was an interesting night, to say the least…

Today we had a first (of hopefully many!) potluck dinner gathering at the girls’ place. Mmmmmmmm soooo much foooood…… everybody made something amazing! And I had a little bit of everything! On a side note, I think I’ve gained somewhere between 5 and 10 pounds already on this study abroad experience, and I’ve only been here a month! It stinks not being able to work out… I will try and play some soccer with everyone when we get a bunch o’ people together, and maybe I should start doing sit-ups. Poor chubby Manny :(

Right now it is 11:40pm, and tonight, at 1:30am is the Super Bowl! I’m trying to stay awake, although I’m contemplating taking a nap before the game, seeing as it won’t be over until around 5:00, 5:30am most likely… I did my readings for our first class tomorrow (which luckily isn’t until 1pm), and I’m going to finish my Greek homework… oh what to do… I’ve finished my Season 9 DVD set of Everybody Loves Raymond…. sad :( luckily I still have an unwatched DVD set remaining of the Simpsons – season 8! Woooo! I’ll have to start re-watching the Simpsons seasons that I brought (seasons 5, 6, 7, and 8) soon, along with watching the Simpsons Movie multiple upon multiple times!!!

My friend from Fraser & U. of Michigan – Alanna – confirmed with me that she will be visiting me in Greece during Michigan’s Spring Break during the last week of February!!!! Hurray!!!!! I’m so exited, it’ll be so fun having her here!!!!

And, now to sum up the latest installment of my randomly-organized blog entry, GO TOM BRADY & THE PATRIOTS!!!!!!!! DO UNIV. OF MICHIGAN PROUD!! WIN ANOTHER SUPER BOWL!!!!

And don't worry about your sucky bowling-- on New Year's this year I got my highest score EVER. A pathetic 42.
